Game @ Jamul Giants - 5/4/10

With only 6 players (started with 5... Thanks for waking up from your nap, Zack!) at today's game in Jamul, the boys did a great job holding their own against the Giants.  Not only did the game move fast because we only had 6 players, but the boys' bats were on fire, hitting most of the pitched balls to them!

Game vs. Bee Mets - 5/1/10

Back to Forehand for another interleague game. We actually had 9 players at our game today, the most in quite a while. One of these days, we'll get all 10 players playing on the same day.

Game @ Jamul Phillies - 4/29/10

The boys played in Jamul today and let me tell you it's quite a change in field.  The ball moves faster since it doesn't have our tall grass to slow it down.  The kids had to make adjustments to their fielding since the ball got to them sooner then they expected.  But it also went farther on hits because of the dirt infield, so they had a better chance of getting to first base before the throw.  Anycase, the field is so nice, along with the dugout and the boys did a great job despite only having 7 players.

Game vs. Mud Cats - 4/24/10

Another home game against the Mud Cats.  The boys love the pitcher position since it gets the most field action.  At times, it can become a little wrestling match to see who gets the ball first.  One things for sure, once they get the ball, they are pretty focused on where to throw it!

Game vs. Padres - 4/20/10

This game went a little longer than usual since the visiting Jamul team had 12 players on their roster!  The field at Forehand is getting pretty thick but our boys manage to find the ball through all the tall grass and make the best play they can!

Game vs. Bee Mets - 4/15/10

The boys are really showing signs of some great hitting and catching!  Even the fans on the side are getting pretty excited!

Game vs. Giants - 4/13/10

Our first game back from Spring Break.  Doesn't look like the break had any affect on the baseball skills of our boys!  They seem to really start to know what to do out on the field, from tagging a player out on the run or on the base to throwing to the right base to get the out!

Game vs. Mets - 3/27/10

We were the Away team today playing against a fellow CDOLL team, the METS.  The other team's coach was hesitant to have the boys hit from a pitch but it worked out nicely and we had a nice game.  We were one player short but our bats were on fire, as we got to see some great hits off the pitch!

Game vs. Phillies - 3/23/10

Another Home game and this time we play against the Jamul Phillies.  We were short 3 players and actually started the game with 6 players, but somehow the game didn't move much faster!  It seems like the boys are starting to really understand that they need to tag someone out as well as not be tagged!  We even had a streak of four hits in a row off the coach's pitch.

First HOME Game vs. Mud Cats - 3/20/10

Our first home game and we were lucky enough to play on the nice big kids field at Forehand!

First Game in Jamul vs. Padres - 3/16/10

We started our season playing on the Jamul fields and boy were they nice.  The boys did a great job for their first game, spoiled by such a nice T-ball field for their first game!

Opening Day!

Even though there was a light sprinkle through out the morning and afternoon, Opening Day was still able to proceed as planned.  Iron Pigs were announced along with the other two T-ball teams and as each player was announced, they go to run the bases!  Couple of hours later, we came back for our official team photo.  What a handsome group we have, looking sharp in their Iron Pig uniforms!

Friday Practice

It's been a hit and miss with the rain and fortunately we were able to have practice today.  We are starting to see the different styles of throwing, fielding and hitting by the players.  Looks like it's going to be a fun and exciting season!  Tomorrow is Opening Day and we are hoping that the rain will at least hold off until after our team pictures!

Our first practice!

We had our first practice of the season when the boys got to meet their Coach, Assistant Coaches and teammates.  They also got their uniform shirt and hats.  Luckily the rain held out so that we could have practice!
